Unleash 6.3
Hello, we’ve got more product improvements for you this month.
Unleash 6.3 is out with a new dedicated UI to help you with feature flag lifecycle, a new project archive to prevent accidental deletion, and other UI and UX improvements.
As always, you can find the complete release notes on GitHub.
UnleashCon was a success!
Thank you to everyone who attended UnleashCon last month. For our first user conference, we’re very happy with the success it’s had. For those of you who could not attend, all the videos are now available in a dedicated playlist on our YouTube channel.
New: Feature Flag Lifecycle
Unleash now gives you a new tool in the UI to help you gain visibility into the lifecycle of your feature flags, and how they progress from start to finish. This lets you track the progression of a flag from creation to archive.
You can manually mark flags as “complete” to help you visualise which flags need to be removed.
This is meant to mirror the software development process and give you insights to move faster and reduce technical debt.
All the different lifecycle stages available are explained in our documentation.
New: Projects are archived before deletion
Before this change, if you deleted a project, it would be removed immediately with no way to bring it back. Now, your Unleash projects go to an archive first before you can delete them permanently, just like the files in your computer.
This prevents accidental mistakes by giving you a chance to recover your projects.
Note that before archiving a project, you must archive all of its feature flags. Archived projects, like archived feature flags, can be revived at any time.
Improved: Event Search
We’ve added more search capabilities on event logs, you can now filter logs by:
- User (created by)
- Date from: (earliest date to include in search)
- Date to: (latest date to include in search)
- Event types
- Feature flags
These search results can be exported for easier audits and tracking.
Improved: Project List
We’ve enhanced the project list page (which is the first thing you see when you log in to Unleash). We made it clearer and added more information.
Each project’s card now lets you see:
- Flags
- Health
- Last seen
- Owner
- Members
- Last updated
You can also sort projects by name, date created, last updated, and last usage. Each project card also shows when it was last updated and when metrics were last reported.
This makes it easier to see the status of a project at a glance, without having to open project insights or other pages.
Thanks for reading, see you next month.
